Default Stung again on Ebay
The 2nd time in 3 weeks, ok this one was only about £5, was a cd rom of Hair styles (my wife has just started her own mobile hairdressing business, I thought it would give her the "edge" on her competitors if she was able to photofit customers faces to all the modern styles. Anyway Ebay have contacted me to let me know the seller has been suspended and not to pay them (what freakin use is this after I paid nearly 2 weeks ago!!! [cursing] )

Ebay is full of *******s these days [thumbdown]

Which is why if I'm to buy off there, then I get a mate to login and do it for me and I'll give them the cash. I dont have an account and never will. If I'm going to give a complete stranger money then I'll do so face-to-face.

I don't see what difference it makes getting someone else to do it. What if he gets scammed?

Yes I've just filed a claim, doubt I will get anything back for such a small amount though.

Thanks mate, judging by last week's takings I'd say she's onto a winner though its not like we're going to be immediately better off, better to stick it away to cover the quiet weeks. Its taken years of constant nagging by the family for her to finally do it, she is fantastic at what she does but she's never had the confidence to go it alone, the transformation in her from leaving her last salon to going on her own is amazing, she's bubbling with enthusiasm about it

Ebays customer service at its very best after being warned by numerous users that someone is selling stuff from a hacked account what do they do?

You guessed it, absolutely nothing.

Way to go ebay!!!!!!!

I don't know...it is odd.

I have had an account for years, and have over 100 positive feedbacks, and the worst experience I have had is a couple of day delays, which have turned out to be the other party having a family medical issue.

My latest was an almost brand new 20GB PS3, with games, extra controller, etc for a comparable song...after I sell the games and controller it will cost me a net of about $300, maybe less. So little use, no wear on any button, perfectly packaged.

The hardest ones would be a recently hacked account before anyone got on there. I only accept paypal, only ship when I have the payment. Only buy from good sellers, cross check a few of the references to ensure they are legit (I caught one who created 10 accounts and gave the accounts positives between themselves).

You can't avoid all the problems, but some care can go a long ways.

I e-mail them straight after the auction and then once every 48 hours until the item is paid or re-listed

well as a ebayer with a rating of 99 (100%) i can say that all 99 have been excellent. i have had no hassle at all. i always check out the feedback, plus i also look at the buyers or sellers past auctions. plus if its an item that costs a lot of money, i always email past buyers to double check the seller is alright.

I think some people must look out for bad deals on EBay and then go for them.
I've only got a rating of 30 (100%) on EBay, but I've been a member for many years.
I do a little bit of selling, a little bit of buying - I've got no EBay business going on, I just use it as a place to both buy and sell.

The worst selling experience I had was when a CPU I sold was bought by somebody who wanted it shipping out to Belgium even though I said UK people only.
Then when I agreed he wanted to do bank transfers rather than my much preferred PayPal option and it just went wrong at every corner.
So I told him PayPal by the end of play the following day or I'd offer the CPU up for auction again.
We mutually decided to end the deal at this point and I sold the CPU again.

With regards buying, the worst I've had was a 10 day wait for something which really should have been with me within days as it was a UK sale and the item was tiny.
Never did find out what the delay was on that one.
