Default Post your favorite local restaurant!
My friend got me talking about my new favorite local restaurant and now I feel like hearing about some other amazing places so, post you location and your favorite restaurant!

I’m in Richland, Washington and recently found Tagaris Winery (one of the MANY wineries we have here in the Columbia Valley area) and they happen to have an amazing restaurant as a secondary business.

The Taverna has a somewhat Greek based fare and is one of the few local restaurants that isn’t a “chain” or based somewhere else and relies heavily on local seasonal ingredients, which I love. The place also is based around deep rich colors and has an open kitchen that never seems to get loud or overbearing and really fills the place with a fresh cooked or baked smell. I know most places smell good but this place has a whole new level when they’re baking some of their flat bread! I only found the place about three months ago but have already had two dinners there with my family and three lunches there on my own. If you’re in the area, you seriously need to check out this place!

Their Duck & Pancetta flatbread is a GREAT lunch, and if pheasant is on the dinner menu it’s a for sure winner.

I don't have a favourite local restaurant, nothing really stands out even though I do like to eat out a lot. I do like Rodizio Rico in London but if it had to be local I guess you can't beat a Bacon and Egg roll in Harringtons.

Now that sounds tasty [yes]

My fave place has always been this little hole in the wall called Freeway. They've got the BEST omelet imo. That's saying alot considering that there's a Dennys, Cafe Marie, Star Diner, Ihop, and Bob Evans all within a 15mile radius...

But for a real meal, I dunno. I've always loved Mancys Italiano and Yen Japanese Steak house. Both places provide superb meals

I live in NYC and I do love to dine well. I have been to quite a few really good restaurants in the city, but there are so many...

The Thai restaurant in the Math Emporium in Blacksburg, Va.

Anybody notice a large amount of traveling?
I did notice a lack of reading comprehension

I live in BFE as well so local is slim pickings. Area restaurants make some of the best fried chicken in the country and thats about it. And one of our favorite Mexican places is only 20 miles away. Its called El Caballo Blanco.

Otherwise we have to drive at least 35 miles to Cincinnati or Kentucky. Theres a fantastic sushi place that they built for Honda plant execs that we love to hit when we have the chance. (money)

Erna's Elderberry House. It's a chateau in Oakhurst, CA. Phenomenal chefs, costs about $100 per person, but they absolutely pamper you and the food is scrumptious. Strange, I can't remember using the word scrumptious before. Anyway, here's a linky if you want to see the place. They have a spa, rooms, and we're also getting married there in September...

Im in Phoenix Arizona and I think I have two favorite restaurants here. The first in Oregano's near downtown phoenix. They have some of the best food I have eaten there and they also have this super powerful alcholic drink called a Gimbellini. Great Stuff.

My second favorite is a little Vietnamese restaurant in Tempe Arizona called Pho Nhat. They have the greatest Pho soup I have tried and the spring rolls they make are awsome. The guy that owns the place is also very nice.

El Mason.

Best Mexican place in town.
They have party days there, live bands outside sometimes, $1 beer Wednesdays I think, something like that, and even a live singer inside who plays whatever you like. Really cool place.

The Imperial Garden for Chinese food
Mellow Mushroom for Pizza and Pizza wraps

Moe's for fast food [thumbup] *Were I work at*

Some of my faves here in San Diego would be;

Sandwich: Scholtzsky's Original
Pizza: Filippi's in Mira Mesa
Steak: The Butcher Shop's Prime Rib
Mexican: Any of the hundreds of places named "Alberto's", "Roberto's", "Alejandro's" or similar, as they all make GREAT carne asada burritos!

So my fave place is obviously dependent upon what I'm in the mood for.

There isn't too much that stands out for me in my immediate area. Although there is a great Spanish place (La Tasca) in Canary Wharf that I sometimes go for special occasions. There is also a nice pub (forget the name) up in Camden which I might go to if I am in the area.
