Default The new TMNT movie...
Is sweet! I'm a 80's child, I'll admit to that. So I went with a couple of friends saturday. It was MUCH better than I had hoped it would be. The storyline pays respect to the original fans who have grown up.

Its not cheesy, toy promoting movie, there is actually a story behind the movie. If you were a fan of the original then you should see it. Its good.

I talked to my ten year old nephew who saw it. He told me there is no shredder/rocksteady/beebop/krieg in the movie at all which was puzzling to me.

The story is set in the future. And it loosely follows the movie timeline in that its after the defeat of Shredder, whether that includes TMNT 2, or from the first movie is not clear.

BTW, April is voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, I didn't guess that one. If I watched it again I'm sure i'd catch her voice this time. And Winters is voiced by Patrick Stuwart, and he does a very good job of it.

How is that puzzling? They got their arses kicked in the first movie?

The cartoon and the movies were much more light hearted.

This movie, despite its CG is more serious, closer to the comics I'm told, though I haven't had a chance to read any of the comics.

Yea, i saw this movie this past weekend also. Loved it. It does go along with the movie time line in regards to the shreder being gone and all. It doesn't really go along with the original cartoon (but you know we all loved those also). It does have a more serious tone to it compared to the cartoon. Love how they did hint at a future movie though and what the plot might be. Think i'll buy this movie when it comes to dvd to go along with the 3 live action movies i have now. [thumbup][thumbup]

See, just from my first impressions of the movie from previews and whatnot, I would have guessed the other way around. I was excited to hear that a new movie was coming out, but was kind of disappointed to find out that it was going to be all CG. I just finished watching the first 2 movies again last summer when I heard about it.

Maybe I'll have to go see it now that some non-10-year-olds have said good things about it[thumbup]

You do know there are actually 3 movies before this right? The 3rd one is a wacky story about them going back in time to ancient japan during the time when the "white man" has recently come to japan. Quirky story but still good.

Turtles 3 sucked that's what is scaring me away from TMNT.

I have to agrea that it wasn't that great compared to the other 2, but it was still a good movie though. Especially if you were a huge turtle fan like i was back in my younger years.

I was a bit hesitant to see this movie based on the second trailer that came out. It looked as if it was made for children. The first trailer got me excited and I was hoping they would make this movie for the people who grew up with TMNT. I was wrong I guess, hopefully I can make time to go see this.

The trailers really gave nothing away as far as plot goes. All of the good parts were not in the trailers.

I went into it thinking I'd be dissapointed, but it really was an excellent movie.

Woo, glad to hear this is alright. I must've seen every episode of the original cartoon series at least twice. I'll make a point of catching this one, then
