OK, there is a nerdy little 14yr old geek claiming that he was adddicted to computer gaming, and how it nearly ruined his life, and how he stopped going to school, and how when his parents tried taking his playstation off him, he tried to attack them with a stanley knife!
Apparently he was playing MMORPG's on his playstation...........
He was part of a massive guild playing WoW...............on his playstation.............ONLINE............

Of course, Phillip and Fern are lapping it up, except, I suspect, he is spinning a yarn in an effort to cover up some shortcoming, as in failing classes or getting bullied.

Best of it, he apparently went into Rehab to get over his "addiction"[rolleyes]

I was friends with a guy in Junior school who became addicted to Street Fighter 2. His mum had a chip shop down Barry Island, so he used to spend the holidays and weekends in the arcades playing games. Then when the SNES came out he didn't have to leave the house. He had to go to a therapist he got so obsessed over it.

If I was his dad and he pulled a knife I'd slap him silly, take the knife, then ensure he didn't sit for a week. There's a difference between enjoying games, and being a total addict and not knowing when to stop. For example, I play WoW/Counter-Strike in all my spare time because the only alternatives are walking around at wal-mart, which I do every day anyway, and getting STDs from pregnant underage drunk redneck highschool girls. Neither of which is my idea of a fun time. Becoming so addicted to a game that you pull a knife on a person? Sounds like somebody got ganked a few too many times.
