Default Influx Of Spambots?
Whats with the recent huge influx of spambots?

I cant remember how the registration works here but dont you have to enter an encrypted set of characters to prevent this kinda thing?

Just seems to be recently that there has been alot of them selling PS3's, Medicine and other general shite, then theres the ones with useless topic titles and daft huge links.

I even earned an infraction because I replied (didnt know you werent allowed).

So whats the deal with them all? they never used to appear....

I haven't seen a mod on the boards for the past few hours, probably the reason why there have been quite a few this afternoon. Gnome came on, and then disappeared, maybe because he saw the workload before him?

I'd imagine most of the spammers are the same person, they saw one or two posts got through, then create a new profile and post some more crap on the boards. Either that or they all keep in contact via MSN and message each other stuff like "Dude go to Futuremark, no mods!"

Those buggers come in waves, perhaps somebody has drafted a new batch of slave labourers in from China so they are new and fresh, or then a new OCR tech has been introduced for the automatic registering of the spambots. [rofl]

True, but mods can be "invisible" on the users list.

Just hope any new people who arent wise to the web, dont click on the links they provide.
