What are some money saving things that you buy the generic brand of?
Personally, I have found that there is virtually no difference between generic contact solution and name brand solutions. A name brand bottle goes for $7 or $8 and a generic (target brand) bottle is usually $2.50. Same thing with cereal, they tast almost exactly the same and you can save quite a bit by buying generic brands. |

Prolly aging myself here, but does anyone remember generic beer? Came in a white can with a black label that said "BEER". There was a whole line of generic items. However, the Value lager is about the vilest I have ever tasted, and at 2% volume it would impossible to get drunk on. ![]() |

Most supermarkets here sell their own brand as well as own brand 'Value' range of goods. Some Value items I cannot tell the difference between the Value and branded, like Value Tuna which is about 45pence a can instead of double that for a branded can. ![]() ![]() 4 cans of Carling for £3 is far better IMO. |
