i honestly beleeve that hitting your quota is governed by the amount of new customers Phoning in and not the calling people to get a renewal.
because my insurance is auto reoccuring so theres no need for someone to call me to see if i want to renew. but if I WAS phoned by someone over my car or bike insurence I would give them the time to tell me how much cheeper they can do it for me with no lesser options or more than i already have on mine but they would have thier work cut out. |

Well, I have had 11 days off, and just come back today and seen my sales target. Its totally borked! [cursing]
I am one of the best salesman at the branch, and last month I put on like about 40 new business in 4 days or so (I hit my own personal target, so helped others) Anyway, usually for a month my target is about 60-90 for the whole month, depending on how many renewals are needed, and branch target requirements. I hit it pretty easily, and tend to get it a few days before. Also my allocation is split, as I am renewals I get most of them as renewals, and about 10 new business. Well, looked at my target and I got freaking 94! Not only that but I am target for 36 of those as bloody new business! It would not be so bad, but new business calls only come in if the NB team dont pick up or busy... Then take in to account I had 11 days off, where I asked someone to look after my renewals and all that went on was bloody 10.. I come back and in two days I stick on 13 by myself... I know at the end of last month my boss was extremely happy with me, and really praised me, which is good and makes me feel appreciated. He also said I made a rod for my own back lol. In other words more is expected of me, which is fine in a full month. The others who have been there all month have the same freaking target as me, but less new business, in fact HALF of my allocation. I got no idea how I am gonna make it, as good as I can be when on a roll. Yeah its a bit of a rant, but damn.. Any ideas on how to get around it? i am gonna have to be a king kong salesman the next couple of weeks. ![]() |

Are your goals set by a person or a computer with a formula? If you have had a great past month, the computer could see that and assume you are doing better than you actually are. Hard to explain what I mean though. If your bosses think you can, just go for it! What happens if you come in under? ![]() |

They might be testing you to see if you will give it your all, no matter what. Possible sales managers position going free?
![]() Give it a go, I know you probably rely on your bonus but if they think you can do it, do your best. After a couple of months if your not hitting it then say something. Nothing worse than moaning about something without giving it a go first and they probably want to see how you react under pressure ![]() |
