Its not that we don't take care of our teeth, its the fact that most dentists have now gone private only and and if you can find a dentist taking on NHS patients then it'll be impossible to register.
I've never quite understood that, maybe it's a regional thing. I hadn't been to the dentist in years I knew I had a wisdom tooth that was going to hell, more cavity than tooth but when a chunk of it just came off while I was on honeymoon I decided as soon as I got home to get it sorted out. And not a moment too soon as I had a cavity elsewhere which needed root canal treatment, that bitch hurt like hell til it was sorted! Anyway I went to the only dentist I knew (in the local shopping center) not know whether I could go NHS or Private, just wanted to get the thing sorted and they registered me NHS straight away. I've had an extraction, root canal and 3 large fillings since. The only thing I had to pay much for was the root canal as they wouldn't do that NHS. I'd been hearing for years how you can't get an NHS dentist anywhere and I got registered at the first dentist I went into. Weird.

I wouldnt really worry too much about accidentally swallowing some anaesthetics you had at the dentist. Well, unless your feeling particular strange/ill in which case see a doctor.

Are you going to tell us the secret behind all these questions!? lol

I'm not sure about the Fish Anaesthic, but if I remember correctly, the other one (Xylocaine) is used in those "sore throat" sprays. I once used a whole bottle of this over a period of just 3 or 4 days, spraying directly into the open hole that was all that remained of a broken tooth when I couldn't get to a dentist. I imagine I swallowed quite a lot of it at that time and it made me feel quite ill (sickly, vomit-y feeling) and I lost my sense of taste for about a week too.

It kept the tooth pain at bay though, until I got back home and went to my Dentist [yes]
