New yeoman warders swear an oath of allegiance, that dates back to 1337, on Tower Green once the Tower has closed to the public. I assume it's this? Pretty sad yeah

I was looking at the photos to see if one of them had a PDA on them, or a DS Lite sticking out their pockets

I've just spotted something........

It says that she has done 22 years, but she joined straight from school at 16, that site lists her at 42yrs old which is wrong, she is 38, also, time served is taken from the age of 18, so she is two years out of serving the full 22, which she should complete at 40 years of age.

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/pages/...n_page_id=1770

She shouldn't have the job basically.

How do you know the 22 years service isn't from when she was 18?

As for her age, how do you know the Mail didn't get it wrong?

Because everywhere else is saying it as well, I checked all relevant links, and only the one at the OP has it at 42.

You can join the UK army from when your 16 and have being able to for a long time.

Surely time served is from enlistment not from a randomly selected age.
Yes, you can join the army at 16, but you will be classed as a junior soldier, ineligble for conflict or deployment.
Your 18th birthday is the date of "reckonable service" this is when you actually sign up for 3, 6, or 9 years service, because 18 is when you can legally sign a contract yourself.
This is when your "Term of Service" actually start.

The way I see it there are three possibilities:

1) The other sources have got her age wrong as well.

2) You're wrong, and your time served does start from 16 if that's when you joined.

3) She really does only have 20 years service and shouldn't have the job.

I know which I think is more likely.

Maybe she had like, a gap year or something. Perhaps its not 22 years continous, but 22 years accumulative.

Besides, I'm sure the Yeoman of the Guard don't make **** ups like that, if they say she's qualified then fair enough.

Well thats funny cause I know 3 lads who served in the first Iraq war, 2 were 16 the other 17, and one of them was on the frontline sniping their asses
