If you read, that's when the band died..so it's not like they ever did cave in that much...self destructed before that cpuld happen. And yes it is ironic that they were pressures to be like the mianstream version of themselves.

Also I'm not saying they're the best (I've moved on to older stuff),but that type of music is the basis of what M. Manson and T. Reznor both dumbed down, popularized and eventually helped kill.
manson and nin bear only very superficial resemblances. and skinny puppy are pseudo political posers come on.

Well just reads that article and skinny puppy = pseudo political posers, reznor = insightful poet and chronicler of deep human feeling, emotion and action, who has the guts to take his music to the forefront.
Suuuure, have you ever heard the man talk? He's not got much floating around up there by the sounds of it,he made some really self-absorbed,what would now be defined as "emo" psuedo-industrial-light music (borrowing several songs along the way) after making some crappy j-pop sounding demo's,got recognized as a potential cash-cow and hit it big in the music industry for a couple years. Now they milk him out regularly like most other big name artists, but really if you ever listen to his music he hasn't changed *his* formula at all, same old same old...could have stopped after TDS and saved some people some money.

Anyway,I remember you now,you used to like to argue with me,and threatened to "knife me" or something like that,so you're going straight in to my ignore list. Bye now,and to the op,sorry for the sidetrack.

Trent even admitted to the song "Down in it" being a slightly modified version of Skinny Puppy's "Dig it","Suck" was a song that was done with the band Pigface that Trent just threw on a cd and claimed as his own,he was sued over the song "Burn" because he stole that from somebody and I know there at least a few more instances I'm not remembering....he's stopped doing that so much since "The Fragile" and listen to how bad that and everything after it sucks.

Like I said I still go back every now and then, but the stuff he copied from was so much better.
You lost me when you said The Fragile sucked.

Yeah, I have to admit I only posted that `cause I'm a Nails fan and you somewhat hurt my feelings, so I was scraping the barrel for a retort. [yes] [thumbup]

EDIT: I suppose I should thank you. After all, what kind of NIN fan doesn't have hurt feelings?
