Here is so more info on the Audi R8.
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/audi_r8.asp

I would sorta like to have seen a bigger engine or this current engine supercharged or something for a little more torque. Still pretty fast though.

Everytime someone comes out with a new sports car V8/10/12, turbo/super charged, low to the ground, 2 door, 2 seating, stylish, classy, technology, ect. ect. ect. I find it so amazing that the $30k Evo can still compete with these $100,000+ vehicles stock.

Looks nice, but how do they justify the usability-power ratio with this one? It's nowhere near as practical as any sedan, it has less power than the most powerful sedans, and probably isn't that much faster.
Ok, sports car handling etc., "you don't need that much power tbh because of speed limits" etc., but hey it looks like a supercar yet doesn't really looks like one figures-wise.

I'm not sure you really understand the supercar concept.

a) It looks sweeter than a sedan can look.

b) It's low, therefore it has a low centre of gravity, thereford it handles like crazy and isn't good at hauling loads, which means a big practical car sucks at handling compared to it

c) It has 420 hp, more than a 911 turbo or db9, how is that lacking? They juice it up more and they cannibalize their Gallardo sales.

My point is a supercar is small and svelte, is doesn't have all the fat dragging behind it that a highpower sedan, so it doesnt need a AMG supercharge blah blah engine, and it will kill any sedan in a corner. People don't use these kinda cars as a daily driver, its a track and GT car, their bentley or merc sedal can more than cover picking up the groceries.

997 Porsche Turbo has 480 hp, DB9 has 450 hp. Get your facts straight. Even the last generation Porsche Turbo got 420 hp, Turbo S got 450 hp.

I dont think people will buy this over cars like the M6.

The R8 is not really a supercar and not a brute luxury cruiser either, on top of that being an expensive Audi its probably not going to meet sales expectations.

Audi is good at producing mid range performance cars like the RS4, S3 and the Quattro.

This is nothing more than an overpriced Audi and the styling is laughable.

Great looking car, one odd point is the Gallardo has a V10, not a V8. So the V8 is the Audi plant from the RS4 I would imagine!

It is, and its a good engine but i think people would expect more in a 100k car, especially when the competition is the M6 which also happens to be cheaper and more powerful.
The Audi would probably out handle the M6 silly, but lets face it the people who buy these cars would never take the car on the track so its all about street cred and boasting at dinner parties and the Audi has no chance against the M6 there.

I drive an Audi, and personally i wouldnt buy the R8 over the BMW M6 or the Merc CL65. As i said earlier, Audi should stick to cars like the RS4.

The BMW 6 series IMO look pig ugly compared to this. However, while I think this Audi looks very nicely styled and definately a close competitor to a car such as the Carrera 911 or V8 Vantage (the coupe which IMO has the most stunning looks), I'd put my money on something such as an Audi S8 or BMW M5, but preferably the Audi as i'm not that keen on the 5 series look. Luxury, comfort and a powerful car at the same time. That's a combination IMO which I can't fault.
