hmm.. actually its kinda hard to say
But I would avoid Discover at all cost. The reason is there are not many places that accepts Discover. Master and American Express is pretty good. You can get around 5 or 8% (can't remember) cashback on gas. And 5% on the groceries. You should give them a call for further details. |

First thing you need to ask yourself is are you planning on keeping any balance on the card from month to month, or will you always pay it off each month in full. Your answer to this question will affect which card could be suitable for you. If you are planning on leaving a balance on there, then you should go for the card with the lowest rates/charges. If you are planning on paying the card off in full each month, then the rate is less important, and you should focus on what additional benefits each company offers.
Personally I NEVER leave outstanding balance on a CC from one month to the next, as even the lowest rates are still a total killer. If all you want a card for is to be able to pay by VISA or Mastercard (e.g so you can shop online) - then why not just get a VISA debit card from your bank? |

I'm in the Netherlands. Credit cards are hard to get here - much harder than in the UK, and I think thats a good thing. |

I prefer the security of my credit card vs a debit card. If someone got ahold of it and started making fraudulent charges, i can contest them and not have to pay for them. Whereas with a debit card, that money comes straight out of my account and I have to wait for the bank to figure out what's going on before i can have my money back, meanwhile I'm broke. That would be the advantage of a credit card.

Visa debit card. I only spend the money I actually have. I have a Barclays Visa Delta, seems like a good deal to me, get Visa protection for online purchases and of course being Visa you can use it pretty much anywhere in the world. The only downside (as noted above by cheaterzx22) is that if something does happen, you'll be out of x amount of cash till its sorted. |
