Default A new moneysink...
So I've decided to give my pc a rest for a while, meaning no more upgrades for some time (hopefully a long time...but i doubt it) and get something else to keep me occupied. What I settled on is a nitro r/c. I've always wanted one and could never afford one when I was younger. After doing some research I settled on a Traxxas Revo 3.3. Wow, Im glad I did. This thing is probably the most fun I've ever had! After breaking the engine in this thing was flying. The 45 mph claim seems to be true hehe. I also live in the right country for this type of thing with vast plains of nothing hehe (Iceland rules...sometimes :P) Too bad i picked it up at this time and not durning the summer, 8°C and raining atm. So anyone else here into nitro R/C's? And if so what are you running?

i know what you mean about a money drain, i did a moderate upgrade to my system a few months ago and apart from maybe the graphics card i am hoping it should last me a couple of years

i am just not as much into games now as i was, got other things to do and spend money on

I've been sinking all my money into magic cards lately. Time spiral came out and played a card on my life, it's called "Raid the Vault" and wizards of the coast has to sacrifice cardboard and plastic wrappers to play it. It's an enchantment that says "As long as Time Spiral is in stores, target player's bank account drains into Wizards of the Coast's bank account at the beginning of their upkeep".

Looking for a disenchant...

Well i've just sold my 360, but I don't intend to upgrade my system as i'd rather keep the money for other important things, despite how old the CPU is in my system. It runs my current games fine, but as to whether it'll run future games I want to play like Crysis, UT2007 and Flight Simulator X at sufficient speeds is another question.

ah yes especially since racing nitro r/c's is an indoor activity. The fumes really do make the world seem like a happier place...:P

Well, looking at your avatar/sig, seems like you're red. Good luck finding that disenchant

Thanks...I had to choose between the T-maxx, Revo and Savage. It seems the Revo is the most popular atm and the fact that my hobby store supplies almost all hop-ups for Traxxas (Incredible actually, live in Iceland and I was able to walk into the store and pick up a new diff, that really amazed me :P) made my choice easier. I cant wait to get some good weather. I've also ordered some new parts and they should be coming in before the weekend...can't wait.

My spending has shifted from PC stuff to a bit of home theater. I finally have a bit of room to set stuff up, and it's really neat having your own big screen (that didn't cost 10 grand). Got the projector, 5.0 of the 5.1 (christmas subwoofer, hopefully!), receiver, and screen. Waiting on my wires, ceiling mount, and dvd player, then it should be pretty sweet.

It's only an EDTV projector (854x480), but HD stuff still looks amazing on it. It's definitely more impressive than my "little" 32" full HDTV[thumbup]

Hobbies are fun, and you can always pick new ones. And who knows, sometime down the line the bits of knowledge you pick up through them might come in handy!
