"I know you've not heard this before, but I've just been told your parents hated you and gave you away when you were 2 months old, your real dad was a serial rapist and your mum killed herself after strangling your baby sister in her cot. How do you feel about this?"

I was expecting something bad, but not that. I hope they get some serious compensation from Newscorp over this.

Exactly... this one's worth at least 80 cents

And this one, $1.46

Did you guys see that video of the cow-sized new anchor who called out an internet troll on live TV? Was comedy gold. Let me see if I can find the link.

Edit: Here it is.

I'm not really getting the comedy gold there. It's pretty sad the person who wrote that letter would have that opinion and feel the need to do so.

Having your daughter kidnapped and then having it broke to you that the police (the people all your hopes rest upon) are saying shes as good as dead, must be traumatic. It doesn't want dealing with in that way, especially if that was live on air.

I'm not sure what that Ash Wednesday video is supposed to prove. The guy she was talking to didn't know anything about it either, and neither did I for that matter. I'm still in the dark as to what the significance of it is. I'm off to Google it.

If I was a news reporter, one thing i'd make sure i was certain of would be knowing what I'm talking about. You very rarely hear them saying "i wonder what that is" etc.

Yes, of course you're right. A reporter should have a detailed knowledge on every possible subject in the entire Universe. All you can tell in that video is that he's got some kind of mark on his forehead. Is it any surprise that she didn't know what it was?

There is a little creed that the news media adheres by ... Bads new is Good news. Meaning no one tunes in to see Cathy's recovery from a dire cancer. They tune in to hear about how a massive car pile up ended the lives of 17 people.

No Bungle, the answer is to not mention it. It's not relevant to anything at that time.

A news reporters job is not to say aloud every thought that enters their head like some kind of simpleton.

If you don't know, then no, as a news reporter you shouldn't. "what has happened to his head?" is a ridiculous thing to say, and then to keep going on about it... Hence why a video was made and posted.

The only person she's asking is the bloke she was with. If she was asking him, there's more subtle and courteous way's to go about it. It's in the way she said it and the way she went on about it. If you don't understand that then it might be down to a lack of human interaction or something.
