A simple robbery to violent crime. Tell me, how does that happen? You have to be home! How is it the home owner (me in this case I guess) the *******? Who broke into the house?! The ******* robber! It isn't about robbery either. You don't know what that person is going to do, if they are armed, if they are on drugs, if they may harm you because they see you are home and see you as a threat. I'd rather not be beaten, tied up or killed if I can prevent it. Rather not same family killed, raped, mangled, etc. That is how horror stories like that happen. A simple robbery, and then people die, get beaten, get raped, etc.


You'd be a retard if you don't do everything in your power to best protect not only your dwelling (insurance at a minimum), but your life, especially in areas of high crime where lots of people walk around with guns, knives, etc and so do the criminals. Lots of people on drugs. Plus I am sure everyone in that ghetto is armed pretty well too. A firearm is just part of the equation to hopefully be able to better protect you.
