Have fun. They are really nice devices.

I am hoping that the iPod Touch gets updated to at least a larger screen when the iPhone 5 comes out, or hopefully the iPad Mini comes out soon. I want to get an Apple for my daughter. She really enjoyed her old iPod Touch a lot more than any Android device to let her use.
Makes me hesitant on getting her the Samsung Player 5 or new 5.8'.

There is a rumored 7 inch iPad coming in October. I think it's a pretty much done deal, but you never know with Apple.

Dude, you're from the UK. I don't care how long you have lived in the US, swapping to their spelling is poor.

It might be the word correct on his browser.

Relying on spellcheck is like relying on Sat Nav. At some point you're going to end up on the train tracks.

It's autocorrect on the iPad... it's way too much trouble to override it every time.

On one of them, yes - the other two had posts from 2012. It'd be easy to find out more.

But let's face it, you don't care. You wouldn't say anything positive about an iPad if one jumped on the shelf and handed you a million pounds. You've decided and you're going to stick to it, right?
That's not true, the iPad has a great graphics processor and a good screen.

"snip"
7" tablets fit in coat/jacket pockets, I take one with me most days, no need for a bag but a pouch is recommended to avoid scratches.

The screen radio on Android devices is fairly consistent and I don't have a problem with applications on a 7" tablet that are designed to work on phones. It only becomes an issue when you move up to the 10" tablets imo which I don't like anyway.

If you ever need proof that Apple are doing it right, just look at the billion dollars they have been awarded from Samsung for copying them. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Truthfully, the lack of flash and USB card etc were annoying to me before I started using one, but I have yet to find a reason to have them on my tablet.

That proofs and changes nothing, other than the US legal system is seriously messed up.

In many countries the results are allot more balanced, some side with Samsung, some both end up paying yet in the US you get ridiculous results like this.

Look, even a one-eyed martian could see that Samsung copied a LOT of their interface from iOS. Personally, it doesn't bother me as I like products from both manufacturers (so there is no need to burn me at the stake), but they obviously copied it for a reason.

Really not getting into this again. Every time Apple is mentioned, even outside of patent news, boils down to "copying". You can imagine where we would be today if every kind of software or hardware shape was patented.

Dude, come on. The first time I saw a Samsung Ace I immediately thought it was very apple-esque. Did that stop me buying a Galaxy S2?

You're not going to be lynched if you admit to recognising similarities. I'm not suggesting that they should have been allowed to sue on visual reasons, but it's obvious that they are heavily influenced from Apple.

Might look the same, but ergonomically, it's perfect. Most phone manufacturers know people don't want sharp corners; my old Nokia 3330/3310/3210 all had rounded corners.

My point still stands: can you imagine a world where companies patented shapes? Can you imagine what we'd be using now if Microsoft patented overlaying windows. What if Coca-Cola managed to patent the typical 2l bottle shape?

Can you imagine a world where one futuremark reader bothered to read the post of another? I said TOUCHWIZ, as such a Samsung fanboy you should instantly know that I'm talking about the interface.

That and I have argued against being able to patent shapes several times in the past.

Incidentally, coca-cola have several design patents against their vessel designs and they enforce them religiously. We have been pulled up a couple of times by their legal department for using the wrong capitalisation (if anyone cares, in legal text diet Coke is not a capital D and elsewhere it is....apart from a few cases) or for changing the dynamic ribbon (the last time was for accidentally rotating it by about three degrees).

The reason these companies are so anal about it is because their brand is basically their whole company when it comes to retailing.

I can't even find an anagram of Touchwiz in that quote.

I don't want to play games or watch movies on a 7" screen. Sorry.
[QUOTE=Sparafucil;1717517]A 10" tablet would be ideal for gaming in bed I think.[/Q]

Screen size is down to personal preference. I like the smaller size tablets because they are easier for me to hold, and the 7 " screen is good for me because I hold it close to my face.

Danger- I meant overpriced as in entry point is too high
