I wish to evaluate my response to yours and I've to lessen this long chain of algebra, it's tedious and so long that it's error-prone. However for people that love this particular, be my guest: $\\Q_1=\frac{a-\frac{\lambda_1}{2}}{3b} \\\\Q_2=\frac{a-2\lambda_1}{3b} \\\\TR_1=aQ_1-bQ_1^2-bQ_1Q_2 \\\\TR_2=aQ_2-bQ_1Q_2-bQ_2^2$ Minimize TR2.. and TR1. then, if you should be really, really bored, continue: $\\TC_1=\frac{a\lambda_1-.5\lambda^2_1}{3b} \\\\TC_2=\frac{1.5a\lambda_1-3\lambda^2_1}{3b} \\\\P_1=TR_1-TC_1 \\\\P_2=TR_2-TC_2$ What a pain in the butt! Once I'm done I'll publish my benefits!
