Authorities in south Florida were in for a shock a week ago when they cut open the stomach of a 16-foot Burmese python they'd taken and killed within the Everglades. Within the lizard they discovered a 76-pound, completely intact deer, the Sun-Sentinel reports. Based on the South Florida Water Management District, the snake, that was a lady, considered 215.4 pounds using the deer, and 139.1 pounds without it. When the deer went by, the snake possibly grabbed the dog in its sharp, backward-pointing teeth, smashed the deer under its fat and coiled around it, killing the deer before eating it, he said.Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission utilized a to kill the snake within an attempt to avoid the species from spreading north, according to LiveScience. Burmese pythons are indigenous to South-east Asia but are common pets in-the Usa.
