Already camping! This week @ Isla Blanca County Park in S. Padre Island. Where, I'm happy to report, the weather's gorgeous and there are NO jellyfish!!

Will be making a long trip to Garner SP, up to Balmorrhea & Monahans, then down thru San Antonio & Fiesta Texas. Then home to Magnolia. At the end of this month.

I'll be attending the Fort Griffin Fandangle again this year, probably the last weekend in June. Planning on staying at Abilene SP this year instead of Fort Griffin SHS.

Nope! I love Texas but camping in the summer in Texas is not my idea of a good time. If I'm camping in July, you can figure I'll be in Colorado or some place further north. Have a great time and,

Happy Camping!

We will be on the Frio River for the Fourth of July at Camp Live Oak for several days. Hope the river is not stagnant by then but we can always go bike riding. We will be camping by summer's end when our teardrop camper is complete, so excited and ready to do some fall camping.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any advice as to which areas of Abilene SP are the best for shade? Being in a tent at the end of June this will top my priority list. Thanks!

We were there last August and IIRC, all of the camping loops were very well-shaded. It was still HOT but at least there was shade.

We have reservations at Martin Dies, Jr. SP for the third weekend in July. We haven't been camping anywhere since November so we are more than ready to go.

If you get a chance do a report when you get back, that is one of the few we have not been to (YET) been to Livingston and Huntsville but missed that one along the way
