Default Sean O'Haire
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfnOU1gkeZY"]YouTube- Sean O'Haire vignette on rules and laws[/ame]

To me this is honestly one of the BIGGEST misses in wrestling of all time.

Anyone else remember these promos? I thought he was going to be HUGE. Sean O'Haire had a great look, was solid in the ring, and with this gimmick had a great charisma. I was always surprised he never did better for himself. Shame.

I remember him doing a few of these and they were all great. This w/o a doubt could've been one of the best characters to have come along in a very long time. I read several times that at the time HHH didn't want the character to surface, so that's why it was scrapped then of he was put with Piper and drifted into being nobody. I'm not sure if the HHH story is true or not but if so then shame. Still, it's a shame either way that this never got to really take off.

Yeah he BARELY got a chance to run with it. Like he did some backstage segements, a couple of in ring things but that was it sadly...It had so much potential and yeah, it would explain it getting snapped out of no where and being put with Piper, which wasn't HORRIBLE, but no where near as awesome as this gimmick.

But, Hey, I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know :P

O'Haire was the man, it's just sad that they made him Roddy Piper's bodyguard or whatever the hell he was. He was extremely talented and i don't know why his character went from pretty intelligent and thought provoking to wanting to learn how to become intelligent and thought provoking...didnt make sense to me then and still doesnt now, it's like going in reverse. I definitely agree with you that he was, at least one, of the best 'never was' guys. O'Haire didn't make it because the WWE was fed up of him getting in bar fights and spending the night in the cell. Considering the WWE is a PLC, would any of the share holders be happy with the world champion or lead character on a brand always having the chance of not turning up for a show, having a call from a police officer etc? He was a liability.

Maybe not, but he wasn't THAT bad I don't remember the reports labelling him quite that bad, in fact, I've heard of Reports of Randy Orton doing things ten time worse and he is still employed with the company, and one of it's biggest stars.

The one thing I didn't like about O'Haire was that he had trouble selling, kind of like Goldberg. Other than that I thought he was awesome.

I liked O'Haire but the WWE sorta gave up on this angle as soon as he came back.

And I always kind felt that O'Haire had the stuff physically and he could do everything he needed to but there was something, as well as the no-selling, that never seemed to quite click.

Wanted him to be really good, though.

Yeah I agree it was an issue, but thats all the more reason to give him the unstoppable big man push. He certainly had the look that would have gone like that, and unlike goldberg, he was actually a decent enough wrestler inside of the ring.

Rene I honestly think the problem was he was saddled with a bad gimmick. Did you watch wCw and his time in the Natural Born Thrillers? In wCw him and Palumbo we're a blast to watch. When he came with WWE though it was all crap, really really vanilla gimmicks, and even palaumbo got billy and chuck. This gimmick was going to be the ticket for Sean but they dumped it really quiick.

man I loved that gimmick! I would love to see them do something like that again, maybe with someone else. O'Haire was in no way as cool as his gimmick.
