I'm interested in the questions raised here, especially about bolt fatigue

To avoid tearing the slot on the screw or screws, buying a set of screwdrivers is best. I ensured this when I was decking on the terrace and bought screws for fastening through the website https://www.scrooz.com.au/screws/decking-screws/. Just because the slot is Phillips does not mean any screwdriver will do. If the angle of the screwdriver and the screw slot mismatch, there is almost a hundred percent chance that the slot will come off. Therefore, having a set of screwdrivers is better for finding the right angle. If I suddenly managed to tear the slot, I put a rubber band in the torn slot and slowly unscrewed the screw.
