Default Why is cigarette smoking so widely accepted by AA members
Only requirement of AA is a desire to quit drinking alcohol.

I personally hate cigarettes - and watching my dear mother pass away from her addiction to them via lung cancer 3 years ago is what threw my drinking off a cliff.

I may have opinions on what other people put into their bodies, but I keep it to myself. I do really like that in my 40 years of life, the amount of smoking I see around me has decreased significantly, but am reminded it's still an issue outside of AA meetings.

I am currently struggling with this addiction. I haven't smoked for 2 months now. I still smoke NEAFS, the tobacco-free alternative. You can get them easily on the uk neafs website. I hope that these can help me quit smoking one day. That's my end goal, but for now, I just want to stop smoking cigarettes. I hope I can stay off them for a long time because that's how I will never smoke them again. NEAFS keep me happy, and I've never wanted to go back to cigarettes yet. It's hard when you have to fight two addictions at once, but I think I'm strong enough to do it.
