Where did I say anything in my OP that I'm gay?
we are in love with one another. Exactly. Love dosn't = Gay! They could be in love like a priest might 'love' an alter boy or a John Travolta might 'love' a male masseur.

Congrats & good luck, btw.

Isn't he old enough to be your dad?

Just an observation.

I have been seeing someone long distance for more than eight months. His name is Neal, he's a successful business owner, has wonderful friends, and is fifty-four years old. And . . . . we are in love with one another.

We have been together in-person twice; first time out here in eastern Iowa, and second time very recently, when I flew out for several days to Santa Clara/San Jose. When he was out here in eastern Iowa, some of my family and friends met him, and they all support us being together.

I plan to drive cross-country in mid-October to move out to Santa Clara, where Neal lives. I'm hoping the Rockies won't have any snow or ice during my trip. I plan to stay overnight at Cheyenne, Wyoming and then at Salt Lake City, Utah.

I am very much excited about this change in my life.
Be SURE to leave Cheyenne with a full gas tank. There's nothing between Cheyenne and SLC. I take that back, there are antelope and interesting piles of rocks.
Watch out for the antelope darting across the highway. Snow is a possibility.

Good luck, MrFun.

And yeah, I totally nailed it with my daddy issue diagnosis.

I've also nailed BK and Alby with my comments about them. Good on you for embracing it. You're farther in life and happier than either of them because of it.

What about armadillos? Do they live as far north as Wyoming or Utah?

I'm going to have to keep my eye on the extended forecasts with regard to snow or ice.
I think armadillos can pass on leprosy....

Many hearty congratulations, from a fellow admirer of older men (Sean Connery barechested in 'You Only Live Twice' my first inkling of being a big gay homo...).

Of course if you're moving to California it's just another nail in its coffin as far as Jerry Falwell's concerned.

Sugar Daddies Perhaps while you are out in CA, you can start on your history of how Abraham Lincoln hunted werewolves too.
I'd rather get a community college teaching job, but with California's higher unemployment rate . . . . .

But then, Neal said that private colleges are not hurting like the public colleges are. I can settle for a boring, low paying job out there to cover my bills and whatever expenses I can afford to help pay for until I find gainful, meaningful employment.

Looking at a map, Laramie is right next to Cheyenne. I think Sloww's probably right on this one.

No, but only by sheer good luck. I stopped in Cheyenne for gas without being aware that I was experiencing luck.

You're not. Rawlins, Rock Springs, Evanston are all in between and all have gas stations.

Yes, I drove it, too. Even spent a weekend in Rawlins.

ACK!

I just want to get to my destination, so I won't be doing much sight seeing along the way. I may have time to check an interesting place or two while in Salt Lake City overnight.
