Actually the NRC seemed like it had its act fairly together. The insertion of Chu and his cadre into the equation was a huge distraction with proposed hair brained ideas wasting valuable time.

It is important to note however that Bechtel was willing to offer up resources (4 pumps) only to have funding cause issue, and also the politics/optics that prevented a relicensing announcement for Vermont Yankee.
