This would be useful if you knew Canadian law.

You know what they say, by the way! The A students become professors and make 100,000 dollars, the B students become judges and make 50,000 dollars, and the C students become lawyers and make 1 million dollars

Or however the joke goes.

Thanks all!

I think it ends with the D student being in Congress or some-odd thing.

I'd rather munch on broken glass before spending my life wresting money from rich ******* X for rich ******* Y, so ideally I'm leaning criminal prosecution or investigation. That being said, in this job market I'd gladly be a hired gun for Satan if it pays the bills, and I haven't even knocked anyone up yet.

What law school? I went to Georgetown Law and graduated with honors so I am not sure how you can top that? Wiglaf
Ralph's Indoor Waterpark College of Law, thanks a lot captain buzzkill...

Oh hell, another one.
You're right, the last thing we need is another goddamned doctor.

When do you take the bar exam?
End of July, then it's off to the poorhouse for good.

I was going to be a lawyer... but I couldn't pass the bar
I hope you're being facetious, because from the glimpses I've seen the bar is a goddamned joke that 99% of students from my state's top school pass and 93% from its bottom school pass. I honestly walked into the "practice" exam this morning hung over from about a dozen shots the night before, on 4 hours of sleep, with no breakfast, and still got 72% of the questions right by accident. After three years these things just settle into gut instinct.

Could be worse; at least you didn't graduate last spring.

He says he works for the government, which means people stuff the envelopes 1st and then give them to him.

Of course, there's always law school. Never mind that applications are at an all-time high and that thousands of legal positions at investment banking firms have disappeared forever. Never mind that recent Ivy League law school graduates are now working as file clerks, substitute school teachers, census takers. Never mind that in order to pay back the $200,000 it's going to cost you to go to law school, you'll need to land one of those plum legal jobs at Goldman Sachs or AIG or one of those other firms that are no longer hiring because they owe so much to the lawyers they already did hire to defend them from lawsuits brought by the government's lawyers, public prosecutors who only took those jobs because Goldman Sachs and AIG weren't hiring. Good luck getting your parents to pay for that one.

Yeah, I don't feel bad for that kid, at all. They bash the Baby Boomers later, though.

Sadly, all the baby boomer bashing isn't going to change anything. . .unless we really bash them.

Still a bit too whiny for my tastes.

True. I probably wouldn't have posted it if I hadn't wanted to make Darius feel better.

I found a job in FINANCE as a FOREIGNER in 2009.

Your skill set is pretty rare. Lawyers (even Ivy League) are a dime a dozen.

Exactly my point.

Do hard things, and then sell out when you've maximized your expected lifetime earnings.
