Nothing "happened" to him; he's a ****ing piece of trash who obviously thinks it's okay to terrorize those lower down in the social order than him.

It just shows that US definitions of "socialist" are often....errrmm....problematic.

Yeah sure it's not wrong since he comes from a socialist platform/party, just that it seems in the US 'socialist' is seen often as kinda half-commie, while the usual Euro style socialist or social democrats are not really anti-capitalists (yes they usually favor tighter regulation, but noone of them wants some kind of centralized state economy).

Wait, why is a socialist head of the IMF?

Does that seem strange to anyone else?
How do you know he's a socialist? All I know is he's part of a "socialist" party.

Apparently he's been denied bail, and is also ineligible for diplomatic immunity.

Maybe they should have extradited Roman Polanski when we asked them to.
I think they made the right call with Polanski, though, since it's pretty clear that he only plead guilty because of a bullshit guilty plea bargain.

Especially since he has bragged (I believe) that 'they are just jealous that they don't get to have sex with 13 yearolds'.

He is a terrible man.

* the u.s. has hit the debt ceiling. this means they can't borrow money any more. this means they're sucking it out of pension reserves, and that the government hasn't been able to become financially viable.
I don't know much about many of the things you talk about, but your statement here makes me think you don't know what you are talking about.

The Chinese could continue to accept money. It's basically 50/50.

I retract my statement about Polanski, it seems like I'm missing a few details about the case.

It's such an absurd case, was he thinking noone would take notice, or that he could pressure or buy off his victim not to say anything?

Why would congress need to declare a debt ceiling in order to issue debt?

The head of the IMF raped an African?

it's in the job description... he just took it too literally... the French should learn to read English first to interpret the tasks correctly

Barroso is calling the EU to put a joint candidate forward by the way. It's probably going to be an EU puppet directed by the member states, once again.
