Default Is this image of an ancient runway?
No. Next question?
yea, looks like an artifact in the pic. Towards the bottom it stops at the line of the other pic.

Possible, but it's just as likely to be some poorly understood geological feature of Mars. There are lots of those, even though scientists have a broad enough understanding of Mars to be able to rule out a lot of things right off the bat.
a crystal mountain would be cool

the color changes in the terrain where they pieced photos together is a bit unusual and the "tracks" or whatever they are ends at the border of such a change, that aint right. I suppose its another optical illusion like the "face".

Do you think that a planet with about as much land area as Earth might just have some spots with lines?

Without scale it is hard to identify exactly what they is but they appear to be exposed bedding layers dipping at a high angle to the left side of the screen. Oh, and erosion happens on Mars so there wouldn't be much ancient anything there.

Much more interesting is this: http://geology.com/articles/racetrac...ng-rocks.shtml
