Cynically, not really.

i kind of liked the ones my father marched in with the Fire Department (I actually liked the candy they threw out) but they never really did much for me... don't know why.

But that does not say there should not BE any. It is an important cultural/societal bonding experience.

As such, it is always best to have one with the most positive and least negative, whatever each may be.

Limit all parades to one block and 15 minutes.

That way we can have lots more and disrupt fewer of our fellow citizens.

You know you were being trite....
I don't think trite is the word you want, but whatever. When I say, "Screw traffic (during parades)," I'm serious. If you don't accept it as such, that's your problem.

I never said that 80% WAS effected I never said all traffic was screwed. What's your point here?

And my Hyperbole was not a Straw Man All I said was hyperbole. Hyperbole is useless. If I'm not allowed to say "screw traffic," you shouldn't be allowed to say "Armenian wombats."

OMG you mean I have a similar attitude towards different things? Are all your similar attitudes rants?

BTW, you still have not addressed the actual issue or come up with a solution. Why must I come up with a solution, when I don't see a problem? The issue in the article is the cost of police presence. No one has brought up traffic except you. It's your issue.

I really have little interest in.... That's the root of your rant. It's not about traffic, commerce, or the city grinding to a halt. It's about poor NH having to wade his way through cigar smoking Armenian wombats on his way to wherever.

i'm all for it ^ especially if we're treated to some of THIS and a bit of THIS.

And who wouldn't love to see THIS in the middle of Fifth Avenue?

Great idea. We could have Guilt-Free Saturday, a festival of all our social taboos.

A friend of mine is in the middle of quitting cigarettes. Maybe I should send him those pics.

Yes, I'm going to hell.

Easily accomplished by doing so yourself.

If a message board can ruin your evening, you should take the advice in #17, or better, #18.
