Default Magic the gathering - anyone play?
Anyone here play Magic? I just picked it up about a month ago and I am really enjoying it. Its my first CCG, probably about middle of the learning curve (getting my ass handed to me sometimes but winning sometimes).

I am currently playing a Mono Black control deck, and I have a Black Red Zombies deck I am working on as well. Both decks are pretty good, I dont want to put too much money into them right now due to the cards rotating out in October but then I will be ALL IN with RTR.

What do you play?

Used to play about 10 years ago when I was traveling in Australia. Started again this year with the release of the new cards. Currently got two decks made up - a blue/black and a green/red creature heavy deck. Only played with them a few times, but they seem to work well enough so far.

Yeah, old veteran here. Took a break from the game after Alara block, going to be getting back into it with the new Ravnica set coming out. Hopefully I have time for it anyways, as Ravnica was my absolute favorite magic block of all time.

BTW, there's no end to the learning curve. Once you think you know everything, you finally realize you know nothing. That's what I loved about the game so much.

I played it for a while when I was in High School. Now thinking about it, that was around 16 years ago. It was fun for a while, but I have no interest in the game anymore.

If you still have those cards, the right ones can be worth LOTS of money.

I played about the same time, about 16 years ago and went on to sell a few rare cards I picked up for about £1000.

There was a few of us who started playing when the game first came out, but then people started doing other stuff and the game sort of died out and then we all sold our card decks.

I had a first edition of this card below and sold it for £200.

I gave them all away to a friend. I think I'll call them and see if they still have them.

I had one of those cards. I remember it because he was always in my black decks.

I've still got a bunch of my old cards, as well as picking up some new ones out of the recent sets.

I think I started playing something like 4th edition, although I did have some random cards from older sets, as well as a starter pack from Revised, think the only thing in there really worth anything was an Uncommon Serra Angel that's only worth a couple $ anyway. I was looking up the value for other cards from Revised, Dual Lands are incredibly rare & worth a lot of money it seems.

I've probably only got a few other cards that may be worth money.
