Actually: The Nexus can compete on price and that's what the comment was probably about. It's not an iPad thankfully, but the specs are still very good and can do most things the iPad can and some things it can't simply because it's not using iOS, this for less than half the price sounds pretty good too me. Not everyone wants an iPad, I certainly don't. |

I still don't see anyone else mentioning miracle tablets, just you being dismissive. |

Considering that I am writing this from my tegra3 based android tablet, I can assure you, I know what the nexus is and isn't capable of. With that said, it seriously lacks in some departments compared to other android tablets, and price aside, it really isn't groundbreaking at all... It is a solid little tablet at an awesome price though. Have you tried buying tablets for £150 before? the experience is not great, there are allot of dodgy Android tablets out there. Having one from Google at least guaranties a certain level of quality. I had a Transformer Prime briefly, sold it because it was just collecting dust. |

Guys, the reason certain tablets have certain features is because market research tells the companies that their customers would like them.
I appreciate most people on here think like techies, but if you thought more pragmatically you would realise that a tablet isn't necessarily better or worse due to a single feature (or three). That doesn't mean that there aren't any crap products out there. Some projects just shouldn't have been started in the first place. |

It's not missing that much, just the obvious features like sdcard, hdmi out, and rear camera. |

What do you use them for? I'm genuinely interested as I've never had a need and can't see a need but there are obviously a lot of people who don't feel the same out there. HDMI: I was planning on getting the tablet since I'll be spending a lot of time abroad, being able to hook the tablet up to any modern TV (at hotels for example) allows me to watch the movies / streams whatever I'm in the mood for on the big screen. |

No I haven't. I bought one for about double that - because the lack of an SDCard and the HDMI out was a deal breaker for me. 8GB on a tablet really isn't a lot. Yes, we know, you very much dislike Apple. |

You did ask whether I tried shopping for tablets for £150 before... Oh and no, 16 GB really isn't much still. ![]() What do you use them for? Also if you root you can use an sdcard as internal storage for application data, why this requires root I don't know. ![]() |

It's all good trying to push cloud services, but WIFI-only tablets need expandability. It's not like it actually adds much cost to the device, either. In fact, it would probably be cheaper by just offering one SKU rather than 2 or 3 different versions. But then, they can't charge ridiculous amounts for 8/16/32GB "upgrade".
