Mostly, but it affected people worldwide.

This was brought up a while back, worth the reminder - although I wouldn't expect it to affect many here - or I would hope not

Once again, nothing happened. It seems like when an event like this is predicted, nothing happens.

I was looking forward to a flood of customer calls on Monday.

That's rather unfair, Mute', while a few did have problems with the Y2K issue, it would have been a lot worse without the work of a lot of people.

that said, those who were caught out by this hijacking and the results probably will take a while to realise anything is wrong, if it is only a few select sites that are actually affected?

Here's the thing... it hijacked users' DNS settings to the DNS servers of the malware writers choice. The fact of the matter is the FBI has had control over said servers for ~year now, and have been re-directing a number of popular addresses to a page that notifies the end users that they're on an infected system.

Aside from the massive media over-hype, due to not having anything else to spin recently, this was barely a blip on the radar... I like to think of it like the Internet's natural selection: If you still got "knocked off the internet" it's because you're either too stupid or too insignificant to matter.

Cheeky bastage!

Nah, been busting my butt the past few weeks ironing out the details of a contract for a collab project with a few major enterprise vendors... that and moving into a new apartment without movers has barely left many any time to sleep.
