I believe it was "Nasty as they wanna be" 2 Live Crew. Why did I buy this? Because I was 12 and just got a CD walkman, and because Tipper Gore and most other politicians were throwing fits about what was on that disk. I had to have it.

Mid to late 80's I guess, can't remember.. Although I definitely bought it from Morrisons

I can't see CDs vanishing, like vinyl they will still be around.

been a long time, but I'm fairly sure it was Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms. I also had it on vinyl and (4 track) cassette.

CD?? ****in' hell John! It was vinyl and then tapes when I was growing up!

--- Post Update ---

Vinyl is still around because it is an analogue format and a lot of people like the sound it produces. CD will be eventually be wiped out because it's a digital medium, the same as all the other digital mediums. Except for taking up a lot of space that is. I imagine it will only be a few years before the CD player is no longer produced.

CDs are still better quality than mp3 though (depending on what you listen to them on). I can see many major labels stopping CDs at some point though I agree. Most of todays mainstream music is so poor it doesn't really matter if you only get a low bit rate mp3. Having a CD doesn't make the Black Eyed Peas any better

Sure, they are, but the point isn't the compression rate is better. That is easily changed with lossless files. The point is that people will always look for ways to store the same information in a smaller space.

Not me, I'm transferring all my mp3s to 10.5" magnetic tape. Just until a larger format becomes available.

What exactly!?

At least i'm honest. Lot's of people I know will have been buying Spice Girls albums at that time. The type of people who'd now claim it was an Iron Maiden album.

Urban Dictionary:

Linkin Park fan
Someone who usually claims nobody "gets" them. They always cry about how bad their parents are even though they get anything they want. Usually wear wrist bands or some ridiculous looking long sleeve shirt under their t-shirt to cover their arms, so nobody sees their razor cuts. They wear a studded belt and paint their finger nails black.

You are one to talk.

whigger
A disparaging term used to describe a Caucasian person that mimics ghetto and urban vernacular. More commonly used to describe those Caucasians whose only contact with popular urban culture is the entertainment media. A poseur.

Dude, you posted a whole thread with half naked pictures of yourself. It's probably best you stay out of this.

Anyone got the link to that? I could do with a laugh.
