They can't make it much worse than the original.

Gary Oldman does not make bad films ( apart from Lost in Space ) and neither would he sign up in the first place if he thought it sucked. I therefore have high hopes for this remake.

Isn't this old news?

They can't make it much worse than the original.
It's a classic.

It's a great movie if you're a 15 year old kid in 1987, but it is definitely not a classic.

The original was fantastic. The sequels, however, were horrible.

Another instance of just how shitty and unoriginal Hollywood is.

RoboCop is a classic, its been years since the last movie, if Oldman's in it should be okay.

They can use the real-life Detroit because it is basically the Old Detroit portrayed in the movies/tv series.

Android is full on Bot dude. You never go full droid.

Interested in the trailer.

I've had this movie staring at me in my netflix queue. Directed by the same guy. Only reason I've not watched it is because of its questionable name and subtitles. Extremely good criticism on both netflix and IMDB.

Good film, make sure you watch the sequel as well, Elite Squad 2.

At first you think they're regular action films then you realise it's got major political overtones and proper decent gritty story.

Script is written by the guy who wrote Cidade de deus.

They are also very good examples of films which are action and explosion heavy yet manage to be good films at the same time.

I'm starting to develop a theory that the producers who 'loved' these films as kids are now in positions where they can indulge themselves by 'remaking' them and 'improving' on the originals

Yeah, I could believe that.
