Default Netflix Gems
Gem might not be the best term, but list some titles you happened to watch that you found surprisingly good considering you'd never heard of it.

Ironclad http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1233301/

Not heavy on dialog. Actually, not much dialog at all. But Paul Giamatti is the evil King, and basically it is the story of the Alamo or 300 in 12th century England. 20 Warriors hold off an army of thousands in a vivid bloodbath to enforce the Magna Carta on the king. Maybe not historically accurate, but a fun ride.

Pururambo http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1667853/

Guy goes deep into New Guinea to visit with lost tribes who nearly kill him a couple of times. Thank goodness they are easily dissuaded by his pocket full of sugary treats.

Quarantine 2: Terminal http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1699231/

It is a zombie flick. Though at first it looks like it will be zombies on a plane, it isn't. You can tell the writer/director is a fan of the L4D games. Fun popcorn flick if you like zombie movies.

Currently watching Phase 7. Heard good things about it. Will get back to you.

This is actually a fantastic idea!

I know you guys have probably seen it already but if not, please do. It has become one of my favorite "fun" movies of all time.

Tucker and Dale: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1465522/

ok just finished

Phase 7 (Argentinian movie, so subtitled) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1568816/

Wow. Much props to these guys. Small budget, Argentinean apocalyptic film. Basically, the opening months of a flu virus that spreads across the world from the view of Coco (dude) as he and his 7month pregnant wife endure inside their quarantined apartment building. There is a lot of subtle genius in the writing. From the continuous put downs Coco receives from his hen pecking wife, to the awesomeness of having a crazy neighbor who has prepared his whole life for the apocalypse. Lots of chuckles throughout. Some minor problems with subtitles, and a few inconsistencies with how lax Coco still is when it is apparent the flu is for real. A bit sloppy on that front, but otherwise solid. More than solid, really.

P.S. Don't count the Chinese out!

I want to see that one, because it's about the siege at Rochester Castle, which is very near to me; and which I visited a couple of times as a kid. I ride a train past it practically every week.

The siege is the reason it's got one round tower and the rest are square.

Let the Right One In

The American remake (Let Me In) isn't bad, but the original employs a unique tone that defies horror conventions and effectively makes it more unsettling and exciting. And there's a single shot in the original that's understandably absent in the remake, but changes EVERYTHING about how you perceive the characters.

Best Worst Movie

Follow that up by watching Troll 2 if you haven't seen it yet.

Rampage

Don't let the director's notoriety dissuade you. This is the one thing of genuine quality he's ever produced.

I Think We're Alone Now

There are no words...

So, beyond just killing everyone in sight because a barista was an *******, is their any other purpose in rampage? Maybe i am just getting too old to pick up on the subtleties of that movie, but it looks to have absolutely no substance where a movie like Falling Down did. I don't know, if his targets were only **** park rangers, i might be more sympathetic

I agree with you on let the right one in, better than the american version, similar to The Girl with the dragon tattoo. The only reason to watch the american version is laziness, which i guess is very american in itself.

I'll add Troll Hunter to the mix. Not great, but pretty good for the shoestring budget they had.

The wonderful whites of west virginia is messed up. Depressingly funny, without meaning to be.
btw, for some reason you doubled your videos

Here is another nordic movie I am looking forward to. There is just something spooky about their winters

Whole new meaning to nice tail!

This is one i've been meaning to post, hilarious and brilliant effing film - very underrated.
Its a zombie movie, but not in the sense that people are undead or eat each other; a tv broadcast signal has turned everyone into mindless killing machines.

I just finished Breaking Bad. I just stumbled on to it one day and was hooked. Great.
Also Flash Forward, another gem, imo of course.
