Default What mean things you have done to other peoples computers
My sister is your average pc user who don't really know anything. Well, I decided today while remote assisting her to change her background while she walked away from it. I finished everything I needed to do and left a bunch of windows open so she wouldn't see the surprise until later.

I am waiting for the phone call at the moment and wanted to share the background I chose.

Just the classic forkbomb in the startup folder and changing all their sounds to people having sex.

I pulled the old "take a screenshot of the desktop, set as background and hide the icons/start menu" on my father a few years ago (XP days).

Also played an April fool joke on one of my bosses by placing scotch tape over the optical sensor on his mouse. Every few minutes, there would be a loud bang as he smacked the mouse on the desk and cursed under his breath. In case you are wondering, the mouse still works, but skips quite heavily (depending on how translucent the tape is).

He found out soon enough, had a good laugh, then HE used it on a co-worker a few months later!

Back in the windows 98 days, I forget how, but I set a kid's keyboard so that every key was toggled to open or close the CD ROM drive. Made for a pretty entertaining class!

Also, once at a LAN party I plugged in a spare mouse to my friend's computer since he was sitting next to me. We got into a duel and I kicked his (my) mouse all over the place with my foot.

Neat AD trick I must say.

Just the old take a screenshot of the desktop, remove files and folders from desktop, hide taskbar, use screenshot as background.

Did this to my girlfriend once only to find out she was already having a bad day. I copped an earful.

Than the install Team Viewer on someones computer than remotely take control of it. Did this to my girlfriends friend and she constantly kept calling up asking why her mouse was moving on it's own and closing browser windows.

Also a good way to find out what websites they are visiting.

Sent one to myself as well, no one ever suspected the weazel...

Take screenshot of desktop, set as background, hide toolbars etc.
Changed the regional language to chinese.

Waited until my step-son had gone for lunch, popped onto his PC, and opened every naughty web link he'd visited in the last week and left them all open on his desktop, and changed his desktop wallpaper to a picture saying "Stop saying you know lots about computers cos you can't even delete your internet history :-P".

Various other stuff to cause much annoyance.

I can't really think of anything. Unplugged a mouse a couple of times. Nothing mean though, just practical jokes.

Not really a computer hack per se, but I hack into Dangermoose's account every day and spout all kinds of crap to make him look like a tool. He's not actually posted for about 3 years. LOLPWNT.

I did one the other day, I used reshack to change the boot screen to Lady Gaga on a colleagues Work laptop, doesn't sound like much but I did it by remotely accessing his registry and it was a royal pain in the arse.

It was the only way I could do it since he carries it everywhere with him and locks it whenever he leaves his Desk.

It's still there as far as I know.

I got done a couple of weeks ago though, my partner called me a pet name over facebook and my colleagues programmed my name on the voice system to be "Hunkasaurus", I spent a week phoning directors and publishers and apart from a couple of 'Hello who's this" queries not a single one of them said a word.

Just to be clear, you are refering to the background and not the programs showing on the desktop?

Back in my junior high days I used to have fun sending my friends Trojans and then messing with their computers via sub7. Just innocent stuff mostly, like taking control of their screen, printing documents, opening and closing the cd drive etc. I would also do the classic screenshot of the desktop then hide the icons and set the screenshot as the wallpaper.

Hide the icons for *only* the screenshot, hide the task-bar after taking screenshot, re enable the icons.
