Default Tidy_Sammy might finally be on the road soon!
Well, being the ripe age of 25, having my car license for just about 6 years, and just about a full motorcycle license, I've still been using public transport my whole life, I've been saving a bit recently and hopefully on Sunday I'm going to go take a look at this little beauty...

(It's a Mk1 MX-5, limited Merlot edition, only 600 made in this colour, purple is my favourite colour although I'm sure many won't like it!)

I didn't realize you were a hairdresser.

Seriously, hope things work out for you. Having your own motor is great

Hehe, cheeky sod ..I find the mk1's the least feminine out of the range, love the pop up lights, I can't wait either, fed up of spending my life on buses...

The MX-5 has a great chassis, RWD first car will be a lot of fun! I despise FWD and hatchbacks!

Just watch it in the wet

Nice man! I really like the color as well. It must have been garage kept because the paint job looks great.

I think it is supposed to be a decent car but personally I think they look a bit feminine.

Yes I hope so! Yeah I'll take it easy in the rain, don't want to end up in a hedge..

Cheers Acu! Purple is my favourite colour so I was excited when I came across this (never knew you could get one this colour), and to top it off it's in Edinburgh! You have a keen eye, it's been garaged the last 18 months...

Screw the rest of you for dissing my masculinity!

Looks like a nice one, especially for the age. It's an import is it?

Gosh, I've known you for so long I had no idea you were so young! Almost 10 years ago when we first starting using these boards, you were only like 16..

I'm not actually sure mate good question! Should I be hoping that it is or it isn't? Will it affect insurance?

(Probably due to being a youth worker), I joined here when I was pretty young, I thought you were around my age? Now you're going to tell me you're kicking 60's door down!

The only reason I though it might be an import is because it looks like there's been a rear fog-light retro fitted. This doesn't mean it's an import for sure, and I know the auction doesn't mention that either though.

Yeah my friend thought the same but it's actually a UK car

Just bought her! Not able to drive her yet though as I need to get insurance etc, she's parked at my sisters right now, can't wait! Already planning on a few wee things to buy (new wipers, clear indicators, new allow hub thingies)...

What exactly is wrong with public transportation? I like not having to drive myself.

Personally for me, a multitude of things, some of the people, some of the smells, some of the overheating, the fact that it restricts me (due to spaced out shifts, I have to sit around the office all day as it takes to long to go home and come back via public transport), etc etc

Oh. I've never had any of the problems you have. Well, good luck with the car. It looks pretty cool.

I had a welder workmate who drove one of those - an LTD version with 6 speed g/box, BBS alloy wheels, uprated suspension with Recaro bucket seats - he had been a hairdresser when he was younger but, with 5 kids, I don't see that as meaning much.
At one stage I asked him what he wanted for it but he wouldn't sell as he didn't see what could offer the same amount of fun for anything like the price!
