Wow. Seems like your actual job was the right choice. I'm also in the market for a new car but this one is outa my reach if I want to have a life besides paying interest rates for a Q7. But just like someone already said, dont buy a new one, get a one year old car with 20.000km on the clock. Gets you all the benefits of a new car (warranty etc) but without the hefty first year value loss. although i must admit i was fluking a bit, i couldn´t afford the V12 either (nor would i ever want to drop 100k on a car), the model i was looking at is the standard 3.0 version, which due to work and contracts we have with Audi i could get for around 36,000 € ![]() |

yupp, things are honestly going very well for me, I was at a pont a couple of months ago where I was about to get a new car, but seeing as things are developing fast with my significant other I deicded to change these plans and go for a ring and a house for the both of us. It's amazing how circumstance is king. |

Thanks m8,
a house is another one of those things we´ve been thinking about. I´m rather handy in the house (my initial trade was being a carpenter) so i can save alot of paid work around the house and we´ve done alot of looking around lately. It´s astonishing how many "older" houses you can get very cheap, which just need a bit work/loving done to them. just a week or two ago we looked at a house with ~ 400 m², garden, etc for under 60k (remember i live in a small German village), of course alot would have to be done (one of the more costly things i guess would be going from the old wooden heating systems (which some prefer, but i´d prefer a more simplistic somewhat more expensive oil/gas heating systems, and the roof truss would need some rebuilding, but still if you think about initial cost of building a house + land costs, i think this would be the way. Just a little throw in here, my brother in law bought a 2 story house with over 500m², very large garden, garden house (man cave ![]() I guess with a house i´m still gonna wait a bit, but for now i´m living rather well in a 112m² apartment, paying no more than 350 €,.. warm (although my reptile pets are sucking me dry with electric costs,.. i think this year we had around 5800 kilowatt hours All i can say is be happy as long as you can live with your parents ![]() |

Wow, that's some nice property for the price. I like the idea of fixer-uppers too, and although I probably am not the handyman you are being an ex-carpenter, I like the idea of having a lot of ongoing projects.
It's just a huge shame that where I live at the moment (near Sydney), the apartment where I live with my girl would be about $400k (295k Euro) to buy hence why we rent at the moment. If I want a 3 bedroom house on a modest piece of land we would be looking at around $750k (550k Euro) to buy. Sydney is rediculously expensive, but I guess it's our choice to live here. |
