not really.. I just dislike people who feel the need they have to copy everyone else. They saw someone do the "duck" and then figured: I wanna do the duck, guys think it looks hot... lemme lemme

but you're right though.. they'll figure out at one point it looks stupid

Dude, come on, you didn't copy your mates when you were 15-16? We all did to some degree. C'est la vie.

No dude, not like this. This would be like copying the kid who got the gay haircut. You copy people who are fashionable. Duck face is not cute. Duck face is not hot. Duck face is duck face. This is like the quarterback getting a Justin Bieber haircut. It's not girls transitioning into women. It's just plain retarded. This is like the pet rock. In fact, I don't care if at some point in time the pet rock was actually considered cool, it was still gay, and always will be.

My GF is a bit on the heavier side (not gonna lie, I like em with curves), and when she sends me pics I always think "the girl in this picture is not my GF". If you saw her picture, then saw her IRL, you'd be all like "what the...". She's not ugly, but it's just the whole heavier girl angle pictures make you look completely different. We occasionally browse dating sites and laugh at crazy people (yeah, we're douches) and he's always saying "this chick looks cute" then you get into the profile and if there's a full body shot there's 4 extra chins hiding there. I'm fat (not that fat), but I don't understand why people try to hide their fatness. Wouldn't it be more embarrassing if the guy shows up and he's like "HOLY CRAP YOU'RE FAT" and then leaves? Also, we found this INSANE girl who is obsessed with ICP. She's black, but only wants ghetto white guys. She actually used the word "neden" in her profile, and under her date idea put something about getting faygo. The joys of being in the midwest.

Holy mackerel, do you really think all the things you thought were cool back then were? I imagine most people of the generation above thought "what a knob" to most of the things we thought were cool.

You're a bit young to be forgetting what being a teenager is like, but duckface is bang on trend at the moment and in fashion. Sure, it looks ridiculous to a lot of people, but that's what's in. Deal with it, it's hurting nobody.

aah common. I'm all for being fashionable, but I really dislike how so many people feel the need to look like everyone else and not just the teenagers. For example here in Switzerland a lot of guys wear those jeans that hang really low, like it falls off. Or the chavs with sports wear on all day long. It looks stupid and definitely not "cool". But I guess my understanding of "cool" is different than someone else's. Wearing a hoody or scarf in mid summer is another thing I can't understand.

I understand what you're saying, but as far back as I can remember there have always been "in things" and young girls have always copied each other.

I remember at high school, every single girl in our group had a morgan top, skirt, belt, bag etc. All the lads had kickers.

That's so true, just glad I didn't follow many of them.
In time most of you'll agree about your generations, and that the 'modern' music is crap - actually it seems to be getting better the last few years, but before that...

Yeah, people showing their individuality by wearing piercings, tattoos, black jeans, etc - just like all the others doing exactly the same things to express their 'indviduality' - sometimes seems the rest of us are a distinct minority, which is
There's so much choice in clothing styles and fashions yet the lemmings still follow each other.
It's like at parties when people seem to be more concerned in checking out what everyone else is wearing and seeing if their being checked out in turn than actually having fun with their friends. Heck, consider all the idiots binge drinking themselves into oblivion - what's the point when they wake up hungover, in their own vomit, often assaulted and down a bunch of money? Is it just because they think everyone else is and they don't want to seem like they're not the same as their peers?

Of course the things I did weren't cool. Duck face is where the line gets drawn. I can deal with the fact my girlfriend likes Paris Hilton. I can deal with the fact that Justin Bieber is popular. But how on God's green earth can any human being ever, for one second, think duck face is acceptable? Even among young people there are plenty who feel the exact same way. It's not a generation gap issue, it's a stupidity issue. Young people thinking 80's music sucks is a generation issue, young people thinking other young people making retarded faces isn't a generation issue. It's like grown men watching my little pony... Rainbow dash is awesome by the way.

Again, who is it hurting? Stop being so judgemental, you sound like a miserable old man that has nothing to do with his time and wants to make everyone else as miserable as himself.

Personally I agree it looks stupid, but so what. The only one who comes off badly from it is the one victimising people for it.

For me it's just as simple as being annoying and stupid. I'm not OFFENDED or find it to be the bane of my existance or anything, but it's an annoyance. The same way that skinny jeans, hipsters, and the phrase "Git R' Done" are all annoyances. The biggest thing is these women use the face to look 'sexy' and this thread was pretty much about how it makes them anything but. It's a rather large turn off. Not a turn on like the girls are intending.

It also doesn't help that I know several people who are very annoying in the first place, in their mid-20s mind you, that are in constant use of the Duck Face, and it makes it and them that much more annoying. I have personal correlation with annoying people and Duck Face.

I feel like dangermoose recently got laid by one of these air heads, hence his unrelenting defense [rofl].
