why? the HTC ONE X specs are known from the trade show - and they are similar (1gb of DDR2 is nice for the HTC)

The One X has a 720p screen not 1080p.

Well, the 720p screens have been out for quite some time and the S3 isn't expected until Q3? That gives until September at the latest to get a 1080p screen fit into all their phones and shipped out. 7 months. Considering how fast tech is moving, I'm very sure that's probable.

It won't take till September to come out either.

Why not? Samsung aren't expected to announce the S3 until their TBA event in H1. And there is no way they will have the phones already in shipping when they announce as information will have leaked by the time they come out with their announcement. So, we are already pushing a Q3 launch but it is possible.

Don't worry, me too. But I'm still waiting on ICS for S2 first. CBA with betas and unfinished work ATM but I've got that itch - the one that's on your back and you just can't reach it [cursing]

Eclair -> Froyo -> Gingerbread? I think that's been a very good innings. Even if/when you upgrade, at least your phone has excellent music capabilities so you can use it as a PMP with expandable storage capability, long after its life as a phone ends.

Why not just get a custom ROM for it?

Odin is the number one cause of user-uncontrollable bricks. Flash CWM and flash only in CWM if you can.

A crash whilst flashing PBL or sometimes SBL = hard brick.
