Default teaching the older generation
im currently in the process of teaching my nan to use a laptop, she's 85.
bought her a laptop and got her a cheap broadband package and she's loving it.

she has started a computer course for 10 weeks and is picking up some basic stuff there.

but is there anything out there which could make everything a little simpler?

id also like to get rid of sponsored ads in IE as its a little confusing for her when i tell her to ignore the first 10 or so results when she does a search.
needs to use IE as its what they teach on the course she is doing, so dont want to confuse her anymore than i have to.

any help much appreciated

get off of bing and go to google. You can change the default search engine.

Today for one of my jobs I was trying to help an 80+ year old man understand the differences between Vista's Windows Mail and Hotmail. No matter how simple I made it, he was confused as heck. I felt bad, there just was no easier way to describe the differences to him. :/
