Had my wifes's two brothers and their mum round for dinner. We all get on really well, so it was a fun evening.

I did all the cooking, but thats cool as if there is one thing I enjoy, its cooking [thumbup]

Tomorrow we have to drive for 2hrs to my wifes mothers for a family brunch with 20+ people. That I suspect is going to be slightly less fun. Time for me to use my crappy Dutch, hurrah.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm not surprised. They usually are a bit poor. Never mind, Sherlock starts next weekend, and I'm looking forward to watching the new Great Expectations adaptation next week. There's also an adaptation of Treasure Island, with Eddie Izzard (of all people) as Long John Silver, which might be worth a watch.

who does not really feel like its Christmas?

Don't get me wrong, - I've nothing against Christmas, - its just that this year for some reason I don't feel Christmasy (is that even a word?) at all.....
Well, had a friend that came over last month to stay and also celebrate xmas die of a heart attack this November. My 2nd girl was born a week later, so also tired.

In all its safe to say no xmas in this household this year. Luckly the oldest (3years) has no concept of birthdays and other celebrations yet.

I was over at the Inlaws Part One today. My girlfriend's parents are divorced, so Day One means visiting the mother with her partner. My girlfriend + her younger sister + their mother = guaranteed crabbiness and bitchiness all day long, and they barely even realize how ear-screachingly painful they are. My secret weapon? Bought myself a tablet for Christmas (once your salary reaches adulthood, your best present is always the one you got yourself), brought it along and had fun with it all day long.

Tomorrow Day Two, visiting her dad and his partner. The step-daughter and her boyfriend are coming as well. I'm expecting a bit more fun, but when my hearing will return I can't predict!

They're known as Devils on Horseback.
I very much doubt my father planned the outcome of his drunken cooking.

I never feel like CHRISTmas. Over here we have a nice neutral word that has it's roots in the pagan beliefs. The word is Joulu. I'd like to think of it as the "stop being a selfish ******* at least once a year, there's also food and presents" day. It has nothing to with religion. Not christianity or the pagan beliefs christians stole the day from.
