Default Why have I never heard of this till now? (Alpine Coasters)
I saw this video on Alpine Coasters and did some google searching and found they seem to be more common then I would have thought.

This looks like absolute fun.

To bad there are none close to where I live. Only found 2 in the US.

Think I saw that on a Live leak yesterday. Looks fun, but something helth and safety could stick their teeth into. The tracks so open, anyone or anything could wander into it's path. Or a branch could fall or something. I bet the sense of speed it excellent though. I went on something similar but decidedly more tame in Switzerland once.

You could see in the video the track is all fenced off. Also I don't think it actually passes under anything that could fall on you. I'm sure this was all looked into before it was built.

The only 'fence' I noticed was the white tape as it went across the fields. I kind of meant any one of those tree's could fall across it though. I just being a bit pessimistic I think.

The first track was rather hazardous if you fell from the trolley(?).
What i would be more concerned about is the short spacing for the releases - just needs someone going quickly to come round a bent and hit someone who was a wimp, for all sorts of legal and civil problems to ensue.

Bungle, you have an amusing take on "fenced off", it looks like long chopsticks connected with ribbon.

Regardless of the questionable placement of tree stumps, rocks and what-not, I would give that a go.

Anyone have a picture of what people sit in?

Looks fun but does look a bit dodgy.... How is the cart held onto the tracks? I would do it anyway but I think I would do a test run before trying it with no brakes lol.

This is a video by the same guy that shows more on the sled and how the track works. Not much to it really.
