I'm curious...would this mean you can't withhold a line number for the first failure?

I have been in three units since the PT program has graced us with its presence.

I can only answer for those units.
Just a few of the things which I read up on...

Yes, and no. I have always been told to have it to them 7 days prior. One year I for got and the PTL asked me if I was going to answer yes to anything. I say no, and he said it was ok.

-AF Form 1975 personal fitness progress chart Never heard of this? Should I have?

-be provided 90 minutes of duty time 3-5 times a week to PT
-Must complete COOL DOWN for FIVE minutes after run test
-3 MINUTE REST BETWEEN COMPONENTS WHEN BEING TESTED
-Evaluator is supposed to give warning times when 30 seconds and 15 seconds remain on one minute test Yes
Yes
Yes
Yes

-Formation runs highly discouraged
-Cadence calls highly discouraged At PT we dont do this, but the base wide Warrior run it is mandatory.

-AFPAM 48-151 Thermal Injury: Allowed to PT continuously for 1 hour. In black flag conditions 20-40 minutes of cont. activity only

AF Form 1975 is only for people that fail. It documents your daily PT activities. And it has to be signed by a PTL or HAWC staff. This way there is actual documentation showing what the workout consisted of incase that person fails again.

As far as I can tell, the 1975 is only for people who have failed the test.

Other than that...well, IMNSHO, 10-248 is the most ignored AFI there is.
I think it takes a small unit with a CC or some one high up to either want to enforce it, or that wants to look good so a change in the PT program and XX% of the unit pass due to his/her direct supervision. Or in some rare case it may just be that Sh!t hot CC that is looking out for his TROOPS and sees it as an opertunity to help his people excel. I have seen a couple of those scenarios. When I PCSed in 2002 the unit I PCSed into had a mandatory PT program 3 days a week, and it wasn't a new thing. That was before PT was focused on fit to test.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the PT AFI is the most ignored AFI in the AF; except when it comes time to hammer some poor sod for failing. Some deserve it, some do not.

The FIRST thing you should have read was the title of the publication. The AF hasn't had "Regs" since the early '90s...

There is an English language outside of the Air Force... An instruction is a reg, which is short for regulation.

Regulation: a law, rule, or other order prescribed by authority, esp. to regulate conduct.

Hmmm not the same definition as Instruction....close but not the same

Instruction; A direction calling for compliance, an outline or manual of technical procedure, action/practice/profession of teaching...

I agree. If they are going to kick people out over it they need to make it part of the duty day. I am not able to do PT during my duty time days 3-5 times a week. When I do PT it's after I've worked a 12-13 hour day and I do it by myself. While driving to work I always see these different flights working out together. I'm actually jealous when I see them being led and encouraged by a PTL.
