Hello
Not really trying to stir the pot with what Commanders and Units around the Air Force do but I was thinking after viewing everyone's thread on the PT. Most people that are in shape tend to favor the program, Some people that are out of shape favor the program but hate the waist measurement, and the skinny guys can care less regardless. I have noticed that in the various units PCA'ing back in forth that they all have one thing in common. 1. The Commander's Policy is either way higher than what the AFI specifies like its his own personal goal that people have to meet. (Like you have to test semi-annually if you score below an 80 officially even though you made a 79.5 which is good according to the Instruction.) 2. Why have an AFI 10-248 or newer version come out when it authorizes Commander's discretion? The instruction really doesn't matter if members are required to meet the commander's set goal. 3. Lastly, during duty hours...to maintainers that's a joke. Try telling Ops or MXG/CC or MX Supervision that day/swings/mids are shutting down to do physical fitness. The planes will have to wait. This is primarily where most of the fails would come from since nothings close to a 7-4 shift. |
