I went and hit two sets of Bridgstones yesterday(J40,J36), both with PX 6.0, felt great, ball flight was a little high on the J40 even when I trapped them, no real loss of distance since I hit blades from the early 90's, very accurate, 6 iron distance of 205 which is average for me, did not hold greens as well as I would have liked, still a great club. J36, was the winner of these two, more piercing ball flight, held greens much better, 208 6 iron average, so minimal gain(wind could have been a factor). I will be hitting some TM MCs this weekend as well as the Cobra S3 and Cally Razr X Forged. Looking forward to it. Thanks again for all of the recs. I am having fun hitting these things.

I also tried some of the Nike VR pro forged irons they are worth looking at too |

That what was referring to when I was talking about the TaylorMade CB or MC, I am just not sure how forgiving they may be. |

I do not have experience hitting all those but there is a great review thread on the J40 cb's. There were a few people who didn't feel comfortable in general with a smaller top line but they had no problems adjusting to the J40's.
Good luck in your search and hope you can try some out before you buy. |

Hit as many as you can first. I really liked the Razr X MB, and the Cleveland 588 CB, but I went with the Bridgestone DPC's. They are tough to find, but you should be able to hit them at a Bridgestone ball fitting day. The rep had both the CB and DPC. Actually both were very close in performance, but I wanted the added bit of forgiveness with the DPC's. Not to forget to mention that the price of some of the ebay sellers was impossible to beat.
Good luck in your search... |

Yeah, I love my blades, but I'm just not the player I used to be. I was carrying a 2 HC last year, it's up two full strokes, and I hate to admit I just can't do it anymore, but it's time. |
