My front nine is almost always four to five strokes worse than the back nine more than likely because I think about my score alot more on the front nine. Last week I was playing and I had back to back birdies on 3 and 4, a first for me. A score in the 70's started running through my mind. Followed the birdies up with back to back double bogeys. Ended up with a 44 on the front.

Once I start shanking the ball I usually pack it in and head home or the range.... Don't want to endanger anyone's lives out there not knowing which direction the ball is going!

I go through this exact scenario almost every time out.

I think my biggest problem is that I lose my interest and focus after the first nine. I also start to get lazy. This happens more when play is slow and a full 18 is going to take 3+ hours.

I find my best string of 18 holes typically comes when I am playing alone or as a twosome when no one else is on the course.

I've gone 46/36. I've also gone 36/46, and within a few days..

For us, I don't think it's necessarily a mental thing. It can be, certainly if the front is low and you start to get ahead of yourself, but I think we just have a lot of variance.
Typical is...oh, 41/41. I have a LOT of scores like that. 40/42, 39/43...I think the odd back nine explosion or super comeback is normally just the averages reasserting themselves.

Dude it happens to me all the time!! I will go out in 35 or so and by hole 11 my entire round is ruined. I don't like to walk off the course though as I don't want my frustrations to win. Plus I will never walk off the course if there is a par 3 still out there. Never know if this is the moment!!

That's a good point dude. I think my expectations were alittle high from the MC 2.0. I played really well and then it carried over to the front 9 and then a bomb went off hahahhaa

Happens to me all the time bro. For me, that inconsistency comes from not having enough time to practice and play every day. I know when the stars align, with good weather, and time that I always play better because I have put in the time to do it. Don't get down on yourself. You are way to wicked cool for that.

I think I know your problem. Those Callaway Razr musclebacks are not treating you well enough. You should probably just get rid of them -- perhaps to someone in Georgia...

Obviously joking. Golf is a funny game filled with struggles. I'm in the middle of an almost month-long funk, but it looks like I'm starting to come out of it. It's the comeback moments that really bring us back. If golf was easy, everyone would do it, but no one would really want to.

Yep, in reverse though. Shot 45 on the front, just nothing worked at all and I was so frustrated I wanted to just quit. Made the turn and shot even par 36 on the back. darts flying at the pins, putting like a mad man, I had 3 drives over 270 which has never ever happened in one 9 hole round. Crazy game!
