Default Under water
Big member-member tournament this weekend cancelled. Philly in general is under water, but my course is as bad as it gets...

Under water again yesterday. The place just can't handle 2" of rain.

I like it...I say play. if every green is elevated like this one, you could play all the holes like #17 Sawgrass, just need a canoe for a golf cart.

Screw that, get your Buster Crabbe swim fins and take the plunge.

In recent years, not well. A lot of new development upstream is forcing the water down the creek faster. It has no place to go after a while except on our course. We're always going to have floods but we've had more floods in the last three years than the last 20 combined.

This storm was a bit different as it all came in just a few hours time and it was so widespread that other areas contributed to our high tides. The Schulykill was about as high as I have seen it except for some of the tropical storms and hurricanes we have had. On top of snow melt as well it was very unusual for this time of year.

Imagine chipping out of the mud hole once the water is gone.

Our greenskeeper has done a miraculous job of rcreating drains and swales to get the water off the course and back into the creek pretty quickly. Saturday's storm was a quick one that drained fast and it will be very playable tomorrow (Tuesday). It would have been playable today but we were closed today for greens aeration. Fortunately, we rarely have any greens under water.

Ths is our golf course now. Four new crowned fairways to get the water off quicker, and widening the creek to allow free flow.

Been closed here since May. Hoping it will open at some point next season, but I'm not real optimistic.

The date is wrong; it should be September 8 (today), but you get the idea. There IS a golf course under there.
