Default Golf GPS
I'm seriously considering getting Golf Logix GPS for my 3G I Phone.

When the weather permits I plan to try it free to see how I like it.

You can check it out at www.golflogix.com

Has anyone else tried it, or has anyone got a different GPS system for golf?

I used a sky caddie for a while but I sold it to my buddy and bought a bushnell laser rangefinder instead. I got tired of paying the $50 subscription fee every year, plus I can use the rangefinder to shoot my rifles.

I liked the gps okay, it speeds up play not having to look for yardage.

if you are going to have your iPhone on the course with you anyways, might as well give it a shot. From what I have seen, they can be pretty accurate GPS wise and the thing can do just about everything for you. Go for it, oldman.

I wont use stuff like that. Dont really see a point to it. Im a pretty good judge of distance and Im usually within 10 yards on all my clubs.

I wish i was consistent enough that a GPS would help.

I figured a GPS would help you find all your lost balls.

I don't need it for that, I just need to find the nearest water hazard.

I though the same thing till I started using a rangefinder last year. It is a game changer.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

I'm pretty certain I'll at least try the GPS.
You can test it out free for 24 hours.

Now I just need the weather to get a little better and the time to get on a course.

I'll report back after I give it a try and let you know how it worked for me.

My game is good enough that accurate yardages do make a difference,
and I'm very curious to get exact distances on all my clubs, especially the driver.

OC, I use golfshot (I think) for the iphone, I like a it a lot. If you have coporate email on the phone it can get annoying typing your password in over and over (corporate email requires a password and a small lockout window) but now that I don't, I'm looking forward to using it again.

I hate the laser things, they are a pain in the ass and often I find I'm too shaky to hit the pin with the damn thing. I'm pretty good at distances and really don't find the need more than a few times a round. But some of the guys I play with drive me crazy with those damn things, measuring not only all of their shots but all of ours as well.
