Default Wasting good drives
I had a few great drives yesterday (over 280 yds, who cares if they were wind aided) but then I'm hitting the ball fat with the wedges. This is really pissing me off.

Anyone have good drills for hitting the ball before taking a divot, I think...no, I know I'm taking my divot before striking the ball.

I get in trouble inside 100 yds. My PW is good between 120-130, but my SW is at best good for 100 yds, usually less, and i don't even want to talk about my LW.

It's funny you say this. Last year in discussion with a golfing buddy, I learned that 65% to 70% of all golf shots are within 100 yards of the cup. I suppose that's common knowledge, and I should have known that, but I did not.

Most people when they go the driving range hit their driver 70% of the time or more, when what they really should be working on is their irons.

The best thing I'd say if you're taking your divot before the ball is to move yourself about 1" forward in your stance, and continue to adjust until you're striking correctly. If you're not pushing or pulling the shot, it's likely that you're just not aligned front to back correctly.

At least that's what I'd guess off the top of my head.

I'm very talented in the area of wasting good drives. There is this 524 yard par 5 on my course where if I crush a drive on the right side it gets a huge kick and puts me at close to the 150 marker. This has happened three times this year for me. PW is one of my most consistent clubs and I did not put it on the green any of those times.
