Default Damn water
Been golfing the last four days, been in the water on the same hole all four days.

It's a 333 yard par four. There is a huge kidney shaped pond in the middle of the fairway, On the tee box side, the right edge is 174 yards and the left edge is 202 yards. Day one, a six iron into the water. Ok, I learned my lesson, day two a 7 iron into the water. I must be a slow learner, day three an 8 iron into the water. I must be really dense, so today i used 9 iron and into the water I went. Gotta love those penalty strokes.

Next time I'll try to use a driver and go over the pond, but that's 230 y ards on the short side...I gotta feeling I'll be getting another penalty stroke.

can't you hit a three wood over the short side or beat on a driver? the hole turns or something? or take a 5 iron and stick it over the short side?

The hole is pretty much straight away, two large oaks protect thr right edge and there's a tree line (forrest) going up both sides. I can't hit my irons 230 yards and I'm to eradict with my woods. Maybe a picthing wedge followed by a five iron would be my best bet.

Sounds like a hole I would either really like or really hate. I really like target holes, as long as there are only 1 or 2 per course. But I hate tricked up holes. Love to see it to decide for myself.
